I am Priya Thapa, a Senior Cyber Analyst at Darktrace based in New York. My experience spans complex SOC investigations, detection-model development and tuning, emerging-threat research, security analytics, and enterprise cybersecurity.

I approach security as an evidence-led discipline. The goal is not simply to identify an anomaly, but to understand the behavior, evaluate the context, and communicate an assessment that helps people act.

My progression from Cyber Technology Specialist to Cyber Analyst and Senior Cyber Analyst brings together enterprise perspective, hands-on analysis, and technical stakeholder communication. Earlier research at Allari and critical-infrastructure work at Consolidated Edison broadened that perspective.

Analyst development

I mentor analysts through structured onboarding, weekly office hours, and hands-on labs, and develop training resources and standardized workflows.

Breaking into tech

As a CyberGirls Fellowship mentor with the CyberSafe Foundation, a Microsoft TEALS volunteer, and a Cyber Security Forum Initiative volunteer, I support people entering technology, particularly women in cybersecurity, with guidance, exposure, and encouragement.

Leadership & recognition

Executive Board Member of ISACA at John Jay College; third place in the 2020 ISACA Student Cybersecurity Case Competition and a top-five finish in the 2021 Darktrace RESPOND competition, CET category.
